"Another dream bites the dust!" I said in irritation as I felt a
cold empty feeling come over me. I had just sailed 99 miles by sea to
San Diego and back (in my sailboat). I had accomplished my dream, but 
I didn't feel anything. 



Didn't I enjoy it? Yes, but I had spent most of the time alone at sea
for two weeks. Most of the time I felt lonely. And the ocean can be
amazing with dazzling sunsets, challenging waves, unbelievable skylines
etc...But it also can be very boring too (as anything in life can be).

Every time I achieve something I've dreamed of doing, 
It never seems to give me the "awesome feeling" I 
thought I would have when achieving it! Do you feel me? 

I can think of two things that have given me that "awesome feeling".
Want to know what they are? 

1) The pure joy and peace I get when coming into Gods presence.
I know, I know, what you may be thinking. But to be honest, in God's
presence, I've felt this unbelievable acceptance and happiness being just
who I am and with what I've already achieved. 

There are times when God's love has come on me and it was like
an "ocean" of light, peace and happiness, cascading upon my mind.
Of course, these are rare occasions. 

If was forced into describing it, it would be like the "voice of a
thousand waters" or "the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding..." (Phil 4:7)

2) The love I've felt from others. On some sporadic occasions in
my life, I've met those who have gone out of their way to share
kindness, compassion, mercy or love with me (it felt as if it was
God himself reaching out to take my hand). Ever feel this? 

So what's my point?

When you listen to God's voice and help others, you may be able to
do something to make someone feel valued, loved, wanted or even
help them feel what a dream come true really feels like!

All in all, I think it's important to have goals and dreams, but most of all,
to realize that helping others achieve their dreams can actually be
much more satisfying, then enjoying your own dream all by
yourself.
